Marketing has no shortage of sustainability statements. What it lacks is evidence that anyone was ever measured against them.
VA Consulting publishes an ESG report for every year, from 2022 to 2025. The early editions carry no carbon figure, because in those years we did not hold the activity data to stand behind one, and we would rather say so than model a number backwards. It is the standard we apply to a client’s spend, applied to ourselves: a figure with no documented basis is not a figure. Sustainability is one of the commitments that define how we work — see all our commitments.
We own no data centres, run no production facilities and operate no vehicle fleet. Our 2025 footprint estimate is in the region of 15–18 tonnes of CO₂e across the categories we can currently account for. Reducing it matters, and we will. It is not where the difference is made.
The impact sits in the systems we govern. When we consolidate a fragmented partner base, remove duplicated production and make every cost comparable, waste leaves the system — and waste is material before it is financial. AURA, the workflow tool our consultants work in, tracks ESG and DE&I data across brands and regions, so clients can see supplier performance instead of assuming it. We describe that contribution qualitatively. We will not invent a number for it.
Our first full report: an Open-es self-assessment, our first ESG Identity Card, a first carbon footprint estimate, and commitments dated to 2028.
The year the team reached its current shape. The practices were in place; the measurement was not.
A team growing faster than the infrastructure around it, stated plainly rather than glossed over.
The earliest year we hold verified people data. No footprint figure, and the reason why.
We hold no ESG certification and carry no third-party rating. Our footprint figure is an estimate, labelled as one. Nothing on this page has been externally assured.
What we commit to carries dates. In 2026 we replace the estimate with a formal, data-based measurement and extend it to purchased goods and services. We move our learning standard onto individual accounts and report development hours per person, rather than asserting them. We begin assessing the ESG performance of the partners we place into client rosters. From 2028 we pursue a third-party rating. Each new edition restates these commitments and marks each one delivered, in progress or missed, with the reason.
